Hello! Adjusted the skip speed options to make people replaying the game and speed runners have a better time. There are scenarios where PlayStation controllers are not being recognized, so I've added an option to manually set your controller icons now. As well, some more bugs have been fixed. - Skip speeds now have more variations to better customize your skip speed preference
- If skip speed is set to maximum, holding the button as you approach them skips immediately
- Added an option to display PlayStation controller icons instead of XBOX icons
- Fixed an issue where the Collateral Damage achievement was sometimes not awarded
- Fixed an issue in Ironman difficulty where some unintended checkpoints could exist

Hello friends,
Happy Friday! We’re getting a lot of feedback that the game is in a much more expected state between patches 1.0.1 and 1.0.4. In 1.0.5, we fixed the critical issue that people had regarding higher resolutions and controllers.
Today’s patch focuses on fixing issues that have been coming up and frustrating some of your playthroughs of a higher priority. The remaining high priorities will take more time to work through. And after that we’ll be hitting issues that are a lower priority to polish the game.
Moving on, we’ll be working on the game but will be releasing patches with more time between them. This will allow us to observe if the current patches created issues we didn’t predict, and be able to fix them. We’ll also be working on the more challenging issues brought up, which will take more time. After those, we’ll be working on polishing the game.
Also, we’ve been putting off some personal things that we should get around to, life’s important too.
General
- On EASY difficulty, you now start chapters at full HP.
- Fixed an issue where you could be stuck holding a slingshot indefinately
- Fixed an issue where alerts held doors open when they shouldn't have.
- Fixed an issue where a guard could be carried and standing nearby at the same time
- Fixed an issue where two guards could be carried at the same time

Chapter 1
- Fixed an issue where the boss could sometimes not spawn.
Chapter 3
- An end of chapter dialogue no longer pauses enemy activities
Chapter 6
- Added an additional grenade near the start of the chapter
- On EASY difficulty, damage taken by the submarine is reduced by 50%
Chapter 7
- Black Thunder boss now spawns sooner so you can get right back in the action
- Fixed an issue where guards could spawn in the river during a boss fight
Chapter 8
- Added tip in final room to suggest a way to avoid repetition after failing multiple times.
Chapter 9
- By request, increased the duration of a cutscene at the beginning of the chapter by 1 second
- Fixed an issue where Japanese Mercs no longer gain 2 max hp when woken up
- Added a tip in the Labrynth if you have challenges getting past the first ghost.
- Added red triangles in a secret room to predict where guards are when you are exiting
- For EASY difficulty, reduced ghost damage per second from 10 to 4
Grenade Guy
- He’s back from a bathroom break. His TP was 1-ply on EASY, and 3-ply on MEDIUM/HARD

Hello! Today's update is a small one. Just focused on 4K monitors and controller test.
General:
- Now UnMetal allows resolutions up to 3840x2160 on full screen and windowed.
- Added new test for controllers (type "test controller" on ENTER CODE)
- Controller issues going N,S,E,W are now fixed (thanks David FRÉTÉ for the help!)
Grenade Guy:
- Now you can see his grenades coming in 4K!
Update v1.0.4
Hello again! It's another patch that focuses on adjusting the challenge in lower difficulties, fixing bugs and some French typos and adding a checkpoint in the game in a challenging part later in the game. We have a lot of feedback that people wanted to use the slingshot more, so we've added more ammo for it throughout the game.
Also, we've been very grateful to the Metal Gear Speedrunning community who have provided feedback and testing for an in game timer from before the launch of the game. So if you'd like to see how long it takes you to run the game, or want to challenge yourself to go faster in a second playthrough, feel free to benefit from their support in it's creation. If you do this, please know that there is an option to change your save slot so you don't overwrite your previous progress or want to try a new difficulty than before.
This patch also will be the last one for a few days as we prepare to take all of the changes from 1.0.1 through 1.0.4 and prepare them for consoles. They're still on 1.0.0 and it's important that we provide these good fixes and updates to them as well. After that, we'll continue with more updates that include higher resolutions, investigating bug reports, controller adjustments, difficulty spikes, checkpoints, polishing some parts, and adding some small additional game additions.

Hello! Today's patch focuses on some of the difficulty spikes in the game on lower difficulties and fixing some critical bugs. I also added some Quality of life additions that were very quick to add.

- Birds no longer dismantle the universe when fed a molotov cocktail

- A new flaw in the programming of exterminator guards now allows them to be affected by EMP grenades
- Japanese Mercenaries lost the ability to create alerts in mere nanoseconds
- In easy difficulty, Japanese Mercs now need a full second to raise an alarm
- In medium difficulty, Japanese Mercs now need half a second to raise an alarm
- Just left of the elevator, a Japanese Merc is no longer in the room on EASY difficulty.
- Just left of the elevator, the other Japanese Merc has new orders to patrol in less frustrating patterns on all difficulties.
Chapter 10
- Colonel Harris is no longer able to be dropped in the black void of open doorways. He'll get over it though.

- Grenade guy has decided to add a little RNG to his diet and eat a randomly generated lunch.

Today's patch involves fixing some bugs that prevent you from progressing, improving ability to dodge and reducing stress in some parts of the game. As a thank you for purchasing the game during launch, this patch also activates the ability to get a unique item for your game, the Founder Artifact. To unlock it in your game, you have to open the game within the launch time period as well as purchase it.

- The game over screen now takes 1/3rd of your time, so you can get back to escaping faster
