Release Notes for The Darkest Tales
Update 1.07 (December 27th, 2022)
- Fixed one of the backtracking softlocks in The Madness.
- Reworked enemy respawn system.
- Fixed an issue where players were not able to complete some levels for 100%.
- Tweaked the AI of the Mantis boss to be more forgiving at low difficulties (no changes in hard mode).
- Removed firefly for NG+ in The Arrogance.
- Fixes for the Goose mini-boss fight.
- Fixes for The Pinocchio mini-boss fight.
- Fixed textures and invisible walls in Gullible.
- Fixed a new softlock in The Arrogance.
Update 1.06 (December 13th, 2022)
- One of the skills wasn't obtainable due to a bug. The players got an XP orb instead of the skill. We've fixed the bug for a new player, but all the players who have already collected it, can now obtain the skill immediately by going back to the Mermaid level.
- Fixed a couple of collision bugs throughout the game.
- Solved a problem with a skill tree from this topic in our discussion board.
- Revised mind control mini-game before The Sleeping Beauty's boss fight.
- Fixed a softlock in The Arrogance level.
- Fixed some issues with the localized text not being displayed fully.
- Fixed an issue where players could skip The Greed's goose boss fight in its entirety.
- Disabled one of the three phantoms in the last level, since most players fond that it was very frustrating to pass through.
Update 1.05 (October 28th, 2022)
- Heavy Charged Attack Mini-game (fix 1 of the 2 planned). We've adjusted the timing to release the attack button during the skill unlock mini-game: now the player have a much larger window to release the button before getting killed by the enemy. The second part of the fix will add more visual feedbacks to that scene and make it more intuitive for the player.
- Retroactive fix for players who got stuck in the fight with White Hook on the pirate ship (previous fixes made it so that new players won't get themselves trapped, retroactive fix will free those, who are already stuck).
- We've enhanced the visibility of the signs on The Selfishness level. Now, players will know exactly where they're supposed to go. When active, signs will display a glowing symbol, a glowing arrow, and the Genie's trail from the arrow towards the direction he wants you to go, to fulfill his wishes.
- We've also made some adjustments to the enemies' hitboxes. Now, Teddy won't get as many hits while jumping around the enemies, at the same time, all of his attacks will land the same way they did before. Hence, hitting the enemy will feel the same, while contact damage will get much more forgiving, so you won't get hurt by the touch of wolf's tail with the pixel of Teddy's boot.
- Players can now skip cutscenes by holding the skip button and will not be forced to press it multiple times.
Update 1.04 (October 22nd, 2022)
- Added a retroactive fix for the players who found themselves stuck after dying at the same time as Peter Pan (this was already fixed for a new player, but the retroactive fix will set players who were already stuck free).
- Fixed the softlock that could occur during the King Arthur's trials.
- Fixed situational game crashes if you pause the game during the Peter Pan's bossfight.
Update 1.02 (October 17th, 2022)
- We've fixed the bug in The Greed level, where you could skip an area where you have to find a bow for the further progression in the game.
- Same issue on The Selfishness level, where you could skip the ability to fly and thus lock yourself in the White Hook boss area.
- Fixed an issue, where you could lock yourself in the Peter Pan boss fight without access to the fighting area itself.
- We've made some adjustments to the chase from the Giantess in The Greed, right now it should be more apparent for the players which way to go.
- Fixed some dash problems in The Gullible, specifically on the King Jack's plant.
